Why am I running for office?

Why am I running as an Independent?

What I intend to do in office?

Our responsibility

Why am I running for office?

I am concerned for our current safety, sustainability and progress for the future. I am tired of those who would put others/community at risk for personal gain. My supporters and I are not only concerned with the present, but also what problems future generations will inherit from what we do or don’t do today. We must accept personal responsibility for the future. I truly have the need to make a difference and it bothers me deeply that I cannot do more. I will be creating advisory committees from various parts of the political spectrum to assist me in writing legislation.

We need practical working solutions that have results now. However, we cannot have short-term gain in exchange for long-term stability. We need to look for long-term solutions instead of short-term fixes that otherwise put communities at risk for personal gain.

Let us create self-sufficiency for everyone and make opportunities for younger generations that may be out of reach for them. Let us make sure everyone has an equal chance to not only explore their full potential, but help their community as well.

Why am I running as an Independent?

We need to work beyond party politics. Let us do what is in the best interest of the people and not one particular party or special interest group. Instead of passing legislation that only benefits certain groups in the hope that those benefits will trickle down, we need to pass some legislation that benefits all citizens of Idaho directly. Too often bureaucrats have a strangle hold and prevent legislation that the majority can agree on, because of their personal views or self-interests. Legislation that the majority of the public can generally agree on often never gets passed because of personal views, self-interest, asking for beyond what the majority can agree on (greed); or just simply because the other party proposes it. Personal views or interests have no place in the decision process of implementing laws that affect all of us. Voters are tired of the legislature being reactive and not proactive. Voters are tired of tragedies happening in order for the legislature to stop dragging their heels.

There are many voters, Independents and Moderates, which have become disillusioned with the two major parties. The moderates, middle of the road and common sense voters need to have a voice in the legislation. As an Independent, I believe I can gain the trust of many moderates on both sides to accomplish goals that are commonly agreed upon and much needed, but hampered by party politics and extremists on both sides of an issue.

What I intend to do in office?

We intend to create multi-partisan advisor groups from all aspects of the political spectrum and search out / listen directly to concerns and suggestions directly from the citizens of District 4. Raised in Northern Idaho, I know the need for a strong presence in the Idaho legislation. Let us give northern Idaho a say in what is commonly a southern Idaho run legislature. Give North Idaho strong representation in the Idaho legislation. We need to give power back to the ordinary citizens. You can’t buy or threaten true patriotism.

Our responsibility:

We must accept personal responsibility for future generations. What kind of world do we want too leave? We must have truth, trust, responsibility, ingenuity, honesty, investment, and opportunity in our future. We must work toward creating a future that can be seen as obtainable by all. We must earn back our childrens’ faith/confidence not only in our promises, but faith in our government as well. In order for government to work effectively, we must all have a voice in how it is managed. We need to create encouragement for people to become self-efficient and contribute to society. We want to make sure there are equal opportunity, liberty and justice for all. To create a self-sufficient and stable future we do not have to alter our lifestyles, but how we access our modern conveniences.
