1) Fuel
taxes
collected
from off
road
activities
should
be spent
on off
road
maintenance.
Once
money
that
should
be
obligated
is
diverted
into any
type of
general
fund it
can be
easily
siphoned
off and
generally
wasted.
2)
Growing
up in
Northern
Idaho I
know the
importance
of
having
the
ability
to
access
our
native
wilderness.
We need
to make
sure
that
this
wilderness
is in
the
public
hands.
It is
important
that we
take
pride in
our
wilderness.
We need
access
to those
areas to
feel we
are a
part of
it. When
we no
longer
feel
connected
to the
land we
loose
control
of it.
3) I’m
very
impressed
with the
ATV
Association
and
their
ability
to
police
themselves.
It only
takes a
few “bad
apples”
to spoil
it for
everyone.
It is a
sad
world
when all
of us
are
punished
just
because
a few
parents’
inability
to
properly
monitor
and
train
their
children.
I am
glad to
see the
ATV
Association
taking
on that
responsibility.
4) There
are many
outdoor
enthusiasts
that
enjoy
our
wilderness
that
cannot
physically
explore
our
great
state.
Motorized
recreation
use
gives
them the
ability
to enjoy
recreational
areas
that
would
have
been out
of reach
for
them.
5) In
reference
to the
forest
trail
plan
they
redid a
few
years
back:
Instead
of
permanently
closing
trails
they
could
have
just as
easily
opened
those
areas to
alternating
years or
during
certain
times of
the
year.
Instead
of “All
or
Nothing”
approach,
we could
have
alternating
areas
instead
of
permanently
closing
them.
While
there
are some
fragile
areas
that
should
never be
opened,
there
are many
other
areas
that can
be
opened
that are
currently
closed.
6) I
will be
looking
forward
to the
ATV
Association
for your
perspective
when it
comes to
recreation
in
Idaho. I
have
been
getting
questionnaires
from
across
the
state –
I am
glad to
see one
locally.
