2010 RESPONSE Jeremy Boggess Candidate Idaho State Senate District 4 P.O. Box 3065 Coeur d’ Alene, Id 83816
2010 “North Idaho Central Labor Council” Questionnaire Response 1) Yes. The “Right to Work” law is something that needs repealed by the voters in Idaho. 2) Yes. Cut-rate labor standards and pay on government projects can often be dangerous to quality of work. 3a) The definition of a livable wage in Idaho is something that needs more research. However, in my personal opinion minimum wage is not a livable wage. 3b) Yes. Publicly funded positions need a set standard of livable wage pay. However, what really lags in public positions is our standards of those positions and some of the people that fulfill them. 4a) Yes. The minimum wage is something that needs reviewed. 4b) Yes. The minimum wage that needs adjusted for inflation. 4c) Yes. Workers in Idaho need to be paid at least minimum wage. 5) Yes. Current state labor laws need to meet current safety standards and other standards. 6) No. Business, PACS, Unions, or foreign entities should not be allowed to contribute to Political Campaigns. If they wish to contribute to other forums to inform voters they should be allowed. However, ONLY INDIVIDUAL U.S. CITIZENS should be allowed to contribute to political campaigns running for office. This flow of money into political campaigns running for office is something that I feel has corrupted our political system. 7) Those who wish to form a union should be allowed and protected in doing so; by the same token they should not be forced join either. |
