Background on related and/or natural resources:

I must admit my experience with farming is limited to helping out on my grandfather’s farm in Moscow as a kid. I would also help him collect firewood as well. I often helped my parents with family gardens. The old adage “Have you eaten today? – Thank a farmer” rings true. We need to support our local food producers. I would be interested in how we can accomplish this. We need to protect our crop production and ensure we are able to produce for tomorrow whether it is food, forest products or other resources.  

Five issues that I feel need addressed:

There are many important issues that need addressed in the Idaho Legislature. It is difficult to only address five. However, if I would have limit to only five it would be the following:

• Increase State of Idaho revenue other than taxes and fees.
• Job creation in Idaho
• Stronger Sex Offender Laws
• Energy Independence for Idahoans
• Reduce “Red Tape” for self-employed & small business

My Interest in serving the public:

I am concerned for our future, country, society and world. I am concerned for our current safety, sustainability and progress for the future. My supporters and I are not only concerned with the present, but also what problems future generations will inherit from what we do or don’t do today. I truly have the need to make a difference and it bothers me deeply that I cannot do more.

We need practical working solutions that have results now. However, we cannot have short-term gain in exchange for long-term stability. We need to look for long-term solutions instead of short-term fixes that put communities at risk for personal gain.

We need to create self-sufficiency for everyone and create those opportunities for younger generations that may be out of reach for them. Let us make sure everyone has an equal chance to not only explore their full potential, but help their community as well.
